lt has held up so far. Off and on use over 15 years.

Here are 2 pictures of the beater bag l made using an old truck inner tube. l folded the ends over, cut a 2 inch wide strip off of the unused part of the inner tube for each end, put them over the folded ends and stitched both ends using leather shoe strings. l put play sand inside. lt is roughly 12"x18".

Good question Aaron.

The bags are used as a backup when putting shape into a piece of metal. The density of the bag can control the amount of deflection put into the material when struck from the top. I hope this answers your question.

Just a thought guys. The finger tips of my welding gauntlets have worn through but the backs are fine. I reckon there's enough leather there to make a hand held beater bag
