Default New Guy from Texas

Hello everyone,
I created an account a bit ago but only have been lurking and learning. I've been talking with Johnny A. on another board and feel like it's time to come on and give an introduction. I have a real passion for metal work and never can get enough. Thanks to the advances of the internet, I have really been able to learn a lot from other folks interested in this great form. Along with doing and reading I've been able to hone my skills and am starting to feel a lot more confident and patient while working with metal. Though, I still have a lot to learn and hope to advance my skills learning from some of the great and talented people on this board. Thanks again and I look forward to talking and interacting with you.

JonJon

I live in Arlington. We spoke a few weeks back, I am the guy that was looking for a TL Hammer. I really appreciate the time you gave me and the help you offered. I did end up getting a reply back from Tom but unfortunately he isn't making them anymore. He pointed me to someone else who seems to make an incredible hammer but the price is way out of my league. I did end up getting some uhmw from a local supplier and made some great ends for the hammer I picked up on Ebay. The hammer and stump I made work really well. I started a great project with it and will post my work soon. Thanks again Kerry!

Jon is someone I really enjoyed from another board. He is real interested in metal shaping and has started a great project.

Jon if you get some free time post it all up from the beginning from the stump to the hammer to your project.

It will be nice having you welcome aboard. You will fit right in

Welcome Jon I'm on the other side of town near Rockwall. I am a novice fabricator but I am at the infant stages of learning metal forming. I am trying to soak this stuff up like a sponge so when I am looking at potential project cars I won't be scared of rust any more.

Are you familiar with the local metal shapers group that has met in Granbury recently? I think the plan is to meet up every couple of months. I learned a lot at the last one.

Thanks Johnny I appreciate it I really enjoy reading your threads and have enjoyed our discussions. I also appreciate the warm welcome. I will start a new thread in the right section when I get a chance showing what I've been up to lately. Patman, what kind of shape is that 53 HT in? I have one myself. Been thinking about trimming the roof a bit but time isn't on my side.
GH78, I've never heard of the group your referring to, sounds cool. PM me with details when You have them.
Take care
jonjon

Hey Richard,
The talk right now is that Tim may be having the Gathering there in the Dallas area rather than Granbury. We need to get JonJon to be a part of it. He is quite welcome to come join the fun.
Peace,
Chaz

If I can make the time I'll be there I have a buddy that will be joining soon I'm sure he will be interested too. I'll give him a kick in the pants to join and do an intro.
Thanks,
JonJon
