Source for rubber insulators
I've been looking without success. For my Guzzi motorcycle project, I am trying to source rubber/urethane insulators to use for mounting the gas tank.
My other Guzzi uses two or three of these as original equipment- which wrap around the frame tube passing under the tank tunnel. Thick part is positioned on top of tube. they are secured with a zip tie placed in the channel. These work much, much better than the typical foam insulation/pad that is often used. These are a direct improvement to replace such foam & production result of the prototype bikes I'm replicating. No idea what durometer these are, pretty firm but not rigid. Problem is the id of these insulators is far too small for the top tube on this earlier frame. Short of making some, does anyone here know of a possible source for functionally similar off-the-shelf items?

I dont know what size that you are looking for, but the shape looks similar to a typical automotive front stabilizer mounting bushing.

rubber molding
If you already have one, it doesn't look like a difficult mold.

ID needs to be 1 3/4", plus 1/2" plus at least another 1" for overall diameter of at least 2 1/4" -2 1/2" and width of approx 2". Hard polyurethane (like most custom sway bar bushings) will be little different than mounting tank directly on the frame tube.
Making them is the back-up plan. I've looked at Freemans, Smooth On and some similar supplier/products that I already use here in studio. Finding out I can buy 2-3 pieces of something close for $5-10 each makes a lot more sense than $50-$100 of materials & shipping.

I was referring to stock stabiliser bar bushings. They are made of a softer rubber. I will try to find some of what I am referring to.
