Default Rear truck Panel Part 2 By Jimmy Hervatin

Well when I left off on part 1, I was welding panels together and finishing the welds as I went.

The panel keeps growing in size.

It took 12 pieces to make the panel (maybe you would have done different). I have numbered the parts for you to see. I am sorry I metal prepped the panel and it took the weld zone off. I choose to make parts 1,2,3 separate parts. This added 2 more long welds but I thought it would be easier than dealing with the distortion from the curved body line in the center of the panel. If the body line had been straight it would have not cause distortion. I may have been able to put 1&3 together or 1&2 together. But I choose 3 parts. Your opinion is welcome. Parts 5,8,10,12 have a flange on them that is next to door edge.

Well after about 100 hours, 12 parts ,25 feet of welding and finishing the panel is ready to install.

I WD40 the panel to make it shine more.

Sorry I can't show the truck. The owner doesn't want any pictures to get out. When the truck is done and debut, I will post build pictures.

Brilliant, nice to see another craftsman's work, one-day perhaps I may be able to produce something like that. (Will never have all your toys though). What method did you use for 6 & 7?
