Default Welding stainless

If welding 409 stainless with my MIG. Just weld as if its regular mild steel ?
Thats the impression I've been getting but want to be sure.
Just bought an exhaust system for my Cutlass.

Hi Brad,

Never done it myself but if you use conventional MIG wire like ER70S6 you will not have the corrosion resistance of the stainless at the weld as it is basically high strength carbon steel. Google" MIG welding stainless" you will find lots of information......here is one link I found that describes using Trimix gas with stainless wire

Good luck with your project

Dave
