I added a 14 ga plate with nuts welded on and got the patch welded in.

Fender trimmed and new flange tacked in place. A bit of issue where the fender meets the rocker panel but a bit of slice and dice, a small patch and no worries....

Ya, it's nice to be back at it Marcus. Five years is a long time.


I got the new fender flange welded and the proud ground down....
Rough but heading in the right direction. I will do the other side next before cleaning this side up too much in case I need to make adjustments.

That fender to cowl seam is sure looking good so far to me, and I can tell from here it is no walk in the park. Nice going, cool rod, and great pictures! Keep at it.

I did the same on the other side. I now needed to deal with the tops of the patches where the hood, fender and cowl converge. I started by getting myself a workable chunk of hood to play with.
