Interesting. I've had times where I've felt some 18 gauge stuff and thought man that's a healthy 18. I guess it varies somewhat. I do have a sheetmetal gauge keychain I use that came with my Hobart machines

Central Steel has a location in Greensboro. They carry AKDQ in 19ga. Actually have a huge selection of differing sheet steel products. One of the few that stocks HSLA sheets.
