altered the frame to deal with the grille vent, getting closer to a finished engine lid
just need to mark out where to put the louvres and find a way to put them in with simple tooling.....

thanks john
i have some more updates, i welded the two halves of the nose panel together and had it clamped to the car to see how wide the car should be lol, it's been so long since it's had a nose panel it was good to get a reference. also got the bonnet frame hinge brackets spot welded to the frame we made at peter's, had to make a new upper bulkhead panel but that went ok this time, and managed to get the bonnet bolted to the car for the first time since i started this restoration. aligned up pretty good really, i can work with that thanks for watching

aiming for perfection is a tough thing to accomplish, trying to be the best you can be or do the best you can is your own personal perfection. so doing this piece again knowing i could do better seems to be a recurring theme with this project.
the engine lid i made is ok, usable, looks like it should and when johnny left hand called in the other day he agreed it looked good, i'd filed up one side of the skin, but was never truly happy with it. so i started again lol. but at least i have some wall art managed to do the frame in one piece this time, which i like much better thanks for watching

Fantastic work as usual Neil!
Seeing that you made that bonnet frame by hand, without a machine I vote you Metal-shaper of the Year. Cheers Charlie
