Hi,

My name is Stephen and I'm in the beautiful village of Curbar in the Peak District National Park near Sheffield in the north of England.

I'm building what we call a "special". It has a 1954 R Type Bentley chassis and a rarer-than-hen's-teeth manual overdrive Daimler V8 2.5L engine & transmission.

It will soon be time to start fabricating the bodywork. I'm hoping to get a few tips here. I just know the neighbours will be thrilled once the hammering starts!

Best wishes,

Stephen

Welcome to the forum, Stephen

I used to go past Curbar on my way to and from Sheffield uni. Used to go Hassop - Calver - Froggatt Edge way. Lovely part of the world!

Bugger t'neighbours! Some half decent and empty roads out your way for when it's finished Stephen. I 'grew up' (still a WIP) in that part of the world. Be sure to post some pics when you start building the buck or wireframe. Presume this will be open top? Have a friend building a Mercedes Silver Arrow inspired Austin 7 special and there is an older Bentley Special being put together nearby with a RR V12 (I think Meteor non SC?). Nice little 'baby hemi' you have planned.
