Best aluminium thickness for a Flaminia Touring dor skin
Hello Community, together with my friend, we started with the restoration of our Lancia Flaminia Touring GTL, we begin with the reconstruction of the right door. Now we arrived at the stage where we have to make the new door skin and we look for the best fit aluminum thickness. For material we selecting the type AW-5005 H14 or H24, this is in Germany available in 1.0 and 1.5 mm thickness. Now we're not sure which is the suitable thickness. If we measure the old skin, the thickness is about 1.2-1.3 mm, but it seem that this thickness is not available. 20160323_234805.jpg Uwe

Uwe
Last Year about this time I finished a 1962 Maserati GT full restoration (body by Touring) and the door frame is almost identical of your job (you could search those posts here on this forum) Well I used 5005H34 (half hard) 1.6 mm but 1.5 will be ok and possibly better Peter

Attachment 37682 Uwe I have done a number of Touring bodies and I would recommend that you use the 1.5 H14.
