Default Linear stretcher for Harbor Frieght Planishing hammer

I like the way my linear stretcher die works in my Mechammer I decided to make some for the HF planishing hammer. I have sold several on Ebay for $59.99 but I'm offering them here for $40 with free shipping

the die is held in with duct tape
I have machined a flat spot on the stem if you decide to drill and tap the
bottom tool holder and insert a set screw to hold in the die

this is 16 gage stretched in a complete circle in about 4 minutes and no marking on the TOP side.
it does leave marks on the bottom side

I'm interested but I'm not spending any money until I get back from Kerry's Meet.

Are these linear stretching dies still available? I just picked up a HF planishing hammer, and these would be a treat!

Rick, you did a good job on your design. Looks like one from the old Metalshapers website. After years of using duct tape and also trying all sorts of set screws, keepers, flats, indents, pins and keys I just "stick" with the ducktape.

A fork tailed piece of sheet metal clamped to the die post with a common hose clamp has worked perfectly for me for years and allows almost instantaneous one handed die changes. Directional dies (1 ½” square) lock in any of four positions and 1 ½” round dies can be used without adjusting the fork tail down, round dies larger than 1 ½” have to be slightly undercut on the bottom to clear. Not my idea, I got it at Scott Knight’s class so it was likely a California Metal Shaping idea. The only downside is all directional dies have to have 1 ½” square bases which requires more machine work than round dies. ~ John Buchtenkirch

I'm not sure these are still available. I sent Rick an email, but haven't heard back yet. If they are available, I'd like to buy one.
