Will: After a side trip to the mountains,I got back home last night. I had a wonderful time. Seeing old friends and meeting new folks is a special time for someone like me who works alone. The trip to the NASCAR museum and especially the Front Row Motorsports shop was icing on the cake.
It was a much needed vacation. Laughter is good medicine. I enjoyed my medicine. Thank you Will and Peggy for hosting as well as those who pitched in by preparing food and ICE CREAM.

Default A few more pics from redneck Roundup #2

Here are a few straggler pictures from the Monday following the scheduled meet. Jim stayed over and I gave some small amount of help in cutting and fitting and gas welding some panels on the right side Bugatti fender.

Here are two hammers that I acquired from Mike Yurko at the meet. They are finely crafted from a 3/4" grade 8 hex head bolt. They are very useful for detail work.

These are a few pics of Jim using the Carl Adams designed bench top reciprocating machine. His linear stretch dies are so good and smooth that I have made this a dedicated linear stretch tool. Note how smooth the top side is, but the bottom is EXTREMELY smooth, void of many of the stretch marks associated with this style of machine. Carl has retired, but still has 3-4 of these machine left. This material is .060" 3003H14 aluminum.

Are you going to be doing this again? I'd like to attend the next one.

Memphis, it looks like we will be hosting another event next year, but it will be announced soon that we are moving the date to the last week end in February to not have to endure so much Carolina heat and humidity.

Sounds excellent, Will. I'm settled down in Raleigh now, so I'm excited to come out and learn. If you're looking for help setting up, I might be able to take a day off work and head over a day or two early.

Will, I'm going to pencil that 2016 date into my calendar right now. I don't want to miss another one of these.

No question.

I'm in. Work should be slowing down by then.

Count me in.
