The good news is that all this good stuff going on shows that the state of health for metal shaping and coachbuilding is very very good![/QUOTE]

I second that !

Will,

I noticed that something was missing among those Carolina pines - a bird feeder.

It would have been great to have y'all there. Will and Peggy keep raising the bar on great events. It was quite a weekend.

Fantastic door prizes from many AMS members (I want to personally thank Craig Peterson of Dagger Tools, Cotton Eubanks and Snap On for my door prizes) and a great tool exchange (my thanks to Dan Pate who provided the Niagara Timsmith Roller that came home with me) were part of the fun. Lots of people worked really hard so we could enjoy ourselves while learning more all weekend long. Saying thank you simply doesn't say enough.

Very cool.

Some pics from Saturday. I apologize for the poor quality photos. I might not be as smart as my phone that I used to take some pictures.

Jim Hery and John Trautnau trying to get some encouragement from the Redneck Dream catcher that was hung from the Aluminum towel dispensing 'box' made by John.

Dan Pate and Mike Yurko rearranging my toolbox.

Mallory Kolenda, busy making a copper/brass turtle.

This is how the turtle turned out. She sold one just like it!
RR4Sat 035.jpg

We had 38 folks sign the release forms, most of which are in this picture

Patman giving some TIG welding instructions to Tom Walker, Terry Roberson and ??

Robert Glenn and Steve Hamilton watching as Cotton Eubanks 'magic bolt' works it's magic.
RR4Sat 103.jpg

We had an overflow crowd on Saturday and had to resort to Redneck 'options' to provide table space by using some Redneck TV Tables. These two guys, Tommy Tyson and Shawn Cattrell are actually very talented metal shapers, and I 'owe' them big-time for letting me talk them into posing for this picture. I had more fun at this Redneck Roundup than I have had in a long time.

Default Redneck round up

I attended the Red Neck Roundup this weekend and just wanted to thank Will & Peggy for their hospitality and free reign in their well equipped shop. Also want to thank all the contributors who provided some really nice door prizes, and lastly the participants who took their time and effort to work with me either one on one or small group to share their hard earned knowledge . Thank you again.
Tom

The Redneck Roundup has grown each year to the point that we are extremely blessed by the number of folks that help out, not only in preparation, operation and cleanup, but buy those that have the faith in us to be VERY generous with their door prize offerings.

Not every one that received a door prize from Kent White (Crystallographic / Tin Man Tech), stayed until the last day, but Teddy Hefner received the VERY NICE Mecco torch and the 'thin' hose set from Kent, two Pulmax owners took home Kent's newest Pulmax instruction videos, and Jim Hery and I received Kent's newly available new Acetylene filters for use in gas welding. Here is a link to other items that Kent offers. https://www.tinmantech.com/

Here is Teddy Hefner with his new Mecco torch from Kent White, and I gave him a sample that I have had of Kent's welding for comparison. Don't worry Kent, LOL, but Teddy actually was very impressive after only moments using this small torch welding aluminum. Link to Mecco torches. https://www.tinmantech.com/products/...dget-torch.php

Here is Mike 'Motog' from here on this site, complementing Teddy on his rapid grasp of aluminum welding with the Mecco torch.
RR4Fri 022.jpg

Jimmy Matthews was kind enough to cut, trim and insert the Tommasini influenced 'U' shaped indentation in the upper surface of these stumps for three lucky recipients Teddy Hefner Jake Ladd, and Mike Yurko.
RR4Sat 011.jpg

Terry Roberson (far right) won the aluminum airplane kit from Jerry Gully in Tennessee. Dan Shady (center) helped Cotton Eubanks assemble his plane as a sample. VERY nice work! Jerry Gulley has a complete array of metal shaping tools here: https://gulleyperformancecenter.com/
RR4Sat 008.jpg

Mike Yorko and Robert Robinson won the the specialty hammers from Joe and Peggy Andrews from Hoosier Profiles. Joe is known for his high quality upper wheeling machine wheels and anvils, but these hammers were of superior design and quality. Here is a link to Hoosier Profiles. http://www.hoosierprofiles.com/home.html

Pat (Patman) Brubaker won the new Cass Nawrocki metal shaping book! Thanks, Cass! If you would like to purchase one of these books, here is a link.
