Some of the weld joints are in a normal place but do not forget that back in those days labour was cheap and material cost a bit of money so they would go being the guillotine and find any useful bit of scrap and used.
I did ask this very question (why so many pieces) many Years ago to one of my teachers (English tradesman) and his answer was '' In England material was expensive and labour cheap''

Default Stiles F type

Hi Ian
That's quite a job you've got there! Pity about the enlarged cut-out for the driver...
I'm very much involved with 'F' type MGs and run the Register for them, but I don't believe we have details of your friend's car's identity.(www.fmagna.org.uk)
I'd be very grateful if you could get him to contact me and I can put him in contact with other Stiles 'F' type owners.
