'Cup full of stubborn' by butt! Here in the Carolinas we Rednecks display 'stubborn' by the wheelbarrow full, come get you some, young man. You can cook some lasagna while you are here. It ain't been the same since you left. LOL.

Hammerform.
Thats a easy way to go but it is often a issue to clamp the blanks in a good way, hundred clamps aint a solution for this positive hammerform for sure, soo this is my solution. time to shape, im lazy...rivetgun will be my choice plastic tip for the gun is a must, still marks but less scrap need to be cutted away to avoid enemys. shrink the "flange is a must if it should be a relaxed piece unclamp the thing to get access to all of the surface, add a exthaus clamp and a luggage strap to keep all in place Time to clean up a bit, diffrent wheels is used and the final will be a scotchbrite pad by hand. Cut is the next thing, just need to remember that it will be a lapjoint, add some for that. final cut is a bandsaw thing, quick and accrate Joggling was done in the pullmax, no pics of that, but its a straight forward solution for stepping. three pieces ready for a test fit. and it looks tight and nice also the inside looks great Easy Peasy, any questions? Take care and enjoy the weekend |

Nice job Per and a neat solution to the problem. Very interesting. I understood what you meant by 'enemies' it is the excess metal that is fighting against what shape you want to achieve.
Cheers
