He posts on facebook under Classic Metal Shaping.
I always enjoyed his posts and his straightforward approach to shaping and welding. I use lots of techniques from his DVD. Without doubt, that DVD was the best "tool" I've ever purchased.

Thats to bad.
I like his approach to fabricating. Kinda use what you have to make it work

Is there a reason we should be aware of? I hope it wasn't because of an unintentional remark that drove him away. He is a very talented guy and we appreciated his skills.

His video was the best tool I bought.
His approach removes the elitest element, definitely old school. He always went to great lengths to show that the same results (from a beginners point of view) can be achieved without an Eckold, cast English wheel, Pullmax etc. That approach must have introduced so many metalshapers that otherwise would have given it a miss due to no understanding of the upper echelons of metal bashing with all the fancy tools. One of those situations where you can get 90% effect with 10% of the gear. Yes it does take longer - but many are here for the journey and dont want to or will ever reach the end. Come back David, cant remember what the issue was, inappropriate comments of some sort, but your posts are sadly missed by me for one.

I agree completely! Whenever I get in a bind with making a part or question my ability, I think about the DVD and know that there is a way to do what I need to do with as he puts it, "simple hand tools".
I'm thankful for the tooling I have, but after watching and coming away with a better understanding of what we do, one begins to realize that you don't NEED much more than a stump, a bag, some snips, hammer/dollies and a torch.
