Hi Jermey,
Nice job you are doing, this is one of my to do projects, if I advance a lot more, so reading with great interest.
What's your plan with the internal parts that were spot welded together?

Very good result!

Louvres are great too. I'm curious about your louvre set too.

That bonnet's looking superb Jeffer. The louvers are also looking as good as I've seen too. Well done!

I think its the most accurate way to produce a louvre. Also I have to mention that the photos of the louvres are straight after pressing them in. I didn't dress them or anything.

I'll take some detailed photos tonight when i get home of the louvre die.

Here are the detailed photos of the louvre punch die.
I build this all from scrap steel at first as a sheetmetal press couple years ago. Now i've added the louvre punch to it.

The dies are bolted to the structure. If needed a smaller larger can be made and bolted to it.

Jeffer: Very nice craftsmanship on the panels, I struggle to get the clean shiny finish like you have done.

Your louver press is well thought out and again, nice quality work.

I like looking at your CAD/SolidWorks drawings. You are very good at that as well.

Thanks Will, appreciate that, i like combining newskool with oldskool. my time effort is equally split between computer work and hands on work to hone my skills.

The shiney finish thats produced by close tracking the panel with flatest wheel possible at low pressure.

The aluminium watercut pieces arrived for the internal structure of the Etype hood. Always a joy to start the unpack party and see the result in real life after so many hrs of drawing. And the best thing. It fits perfectly compared to the original parts.
