A Little Dolly Help?
Hello All Metal Shapers,
Looking for a little help in getting some dollies. In the middle of proto-typing a bodyworking tool, its based off of a standard heel dolly and I'm looking to get about 100-200 of these heel dollies. So I use dollies everyday but don't actually know to much about them. Are all dollies forged, or are cheaper dollies casted and heat treated? Were could I go to get dollies made that would'nt send me into the poor house? Besides Martin tool and forge, are there any other companies in the U.S. that manufacture body tools that might be able help me out. Any help here would be great, there are so many smart folks on this sight I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Cody

Don't know what you are trying to make but if a heel dolly shape is what you want they could be made from round stock in a CNC milling center. You might want to check with Joe Andrews at Hoosier Profile. He makes a lot of items for the metal shaping community and his quality is excellent. He is a member here.

There are cast dollies of the err... less expensive variety. They will easily dent when hit, so stay away from them if you can.
