Whatever I use needs to be thin as I don't really want it showing. No matter what is used or how its done, each method has drawbacks. The gap cannot be sealed from the bottom spray as any rain entering from the top will be trapped inside. No need to worry about salt as it won't be winter driven. Trying to keep water out of something never works so its probably best to make sure it can get out. I actually shouldn't really worry about water getting trapped and causing rust as this would take 40 years of summer only driving to happen and I'll be gone by then. With all this considered, I would think using a thin neoprene strip as the welting makes the most sense for the "look". Thanks for all the input everyone. |
