Best car restoration TV show
Whats the best car restoration show in your opinion? That shows metalworking too, not just bondo work & shiny finish. And dont mind american drama shows or tight budjet and timeline things. I like "fast & loud", but they dont show metalworking a lot. "Chop shop" is fun, but nothing but bondo

The UK shows are absolutely appalling!!
They must be responsible for more unfinished projects than anything else. Of course you can rebuild an E type or MGB in 6 days, silly me, must be doing something seriously wrong. Everything is about the "visual" experience - modern day comics, more like. The comperes are generally "simple", can shout loud and fool about. I can do all of those things, sometimes enjoy them, but they have absolutely nothing to do with proper metalwork. Most of the restorations that I have seen featured are similar to the the stuff I did in the Eighties, before I knew better and after the invention of bondo / filler. Use the TV time to watch one of the various DVDs or You tube features, you will learn a thousand times more. Rant over, time to finish off new workshop door - nearly there!

This one's a winner: Project Binky

It's not a lot of sheet metal restoration yet, but a lot of custom fabrication by very clever fabricators. Some more than occasional good humour and banter, but no drama.

All things considered "Overhaulin" gets my vote, too much bondo, but Foose has great vision and his skill level on the metalwork has improved a lot since the first series started. I think the time scales for real metalshaping works against these programmes, hence the bondo teams. What these cars look like a few months down the line would be a different story, the paint doesn't get a chance to dry before they are wet sanding and mopping it

Peter Tommasini and Tom Peach's TV series GASOLENE, broadcast in Australia, is the ONLY program that ever showed in detail the kind of work we in this forum, aspire to. It is in-depth, and top notch. The entire series is available on DVD, although, frankly, Peter later produced his own series on DVD which I think is even better.

Yes I'm with the rest, if you want to learn, then YouTube or Buy the Dedicated DVD from the master's.
Peter Tommasini has a great DVD set Dave Gardiner's DVD and Wray Shelin You Tube vids. As for TV Shows for what it's worth, I enjoyed the Love Of Cars Series and Dream Car Garage..
