There is a seam the whole length of this section of the top rear and pic of my gas welding, it's a long way off pretty, but it's functional

The final leg, filing, planishing, flanging & finishing.
On the originals, they have a copper half moon rim to reinforce the opening instead of a wire or flanged edge, as this is just a wall piece, I left it with no treatment.

Nice work martin. did you like gas or tig best? i do both never had any trouble with tig on ally.

Thanks for the appreciation chaps.
Carl, I'd like to be confident in both gas & tig, I like the cleanliness of tig, but I like the slightly better penetration of gas, or that be might be my poor tig technique. I've seen the stuff you do in your album, great stuff and yet you don't shout about it, must be all recommendation
