Doug, you can get the flux from Joe through his company Panelcraft. He's located in New Hampshire. It's reasonably priced and he encouraged us to use very little.

If you go to the tab called "Shop Talk" you'll see a link on the right for Aluminum Welding Products. I agree with Mike, above, it was a Great class and I learned a lot. I particularly enjoyed learning to gas weld aluminum - that had been an obstacle for me in the past. Joe made it easy!

does he do everything with the wheel, or does he use a hammer and bag and then wheel out the walnuts? What is his approach?

Scott, most of what we did was wheeling because that's what the shapes called for. We did a little hammering where there is a small but abrupt reverse curve. The bucks were shown on a previous post.
