Hi Nick

The Roadster is looking a lot like a car! Great work too bad it had to be painted. Many will think it is a fiberglass kit car, and not be able to appreciate all the work that went into the project.

Thanks for sharing with us!

Steve

Too right! At the end of the day... all people will see is the shiny paint and not the hours poured into forming and fabrication. I've had plenty of experiences with people knocking on Rhythm's body checking to see if it's glass. I just walk up beside them, hand them a magnet, and say "here, try this". The owner knows its an all steel body under that shiny paint and that's all the matters.

Thanks for the kind words guys. At this stage there isn't much metal shaping involved anymore, so I appreciate everyone still taking the time to checkout and comment on the progress.

Great work! I have been following along on this thread to see the progress.

Will you complete the whole car? Engine, wiring, etc?

As the saying goes, 90% done, and 90% to go....

I would love to see the rest of the process of finishing out the car, so don't hesitate to keep posting as your time permits.

Brad

Hehe.. i have heard that before, but we're somewhere around 60%... so a ways to go yet.

Yes, we will be helping by finishing everything up(interior, wiring, powertrain and whatever else) and complete this car for him.

Thanks

Hi everyone, here's a small update on the roadster build.

Trunk lid has been completed and installed.

With the new seats being wider than the ones used in the original design, the centre tunnel section had to be recreated.

After many hours of block sanding we're almost ready for paint. Stay tuned.

Thanks for looking.

The roadster's body arrived from paint! Final assembly can being after we cut and polish the panels. In the mean time the chassis has been slowly coming together.

Thank you Will. Next to metal shaping this final stage is my favorite part of the builds.

So, a lot has been done to the roadster since the last time I updated this thread. The body was cut and polished and mated with the chassis, electrical wrapped up, and dash/interior just about buttoned up. Still waiting on a few key suspension components as well as the front windshield.

Cut and polished.

Here's a photo from the other night.

Thanks for following along.
