I have used the cast version and it was very effective in straightening and "wheeling" out areas that needed a bit more shape. The cast version is ridged enough to stretch smoothly. I would suggest not modifying it with a lower wheel but try using it as-is first.

I would like to see a picture of the prototype and description of the evolution of the tool.

Just saw the replies to this post. That's cool stuff. That's awesome that you're grandfather invented it. I've played around with it, worked pretty good if you have a panel you can get the tool into

Default erace-a-dent

styles + herman.jpgMy erace-a-dent with a roller added in place of the platten. Also a photo of my Styles and Herman fender rollers, there were three sizes made, the middle one is rare.
My arms are not quite like Popeyes but have no problem using them successfuiy
