I've given up on this. It's pretty clear after all this time has gone by (2 years?) that the family has no intentions of fulfilling Tim's obligations. We can write off the money on books 5-7 and the dvd I reckon.

Tim was in the process of producing, printing, and distributing book 5 when he was unexpectedly afflicted with a medical emergency which sent him to the hospital. He died there, again, unexpectedly. Fraud? Hardly. Upon his death it was up to others to fulfill obligations, again, unexpected medical/health issues struck the family, and the project suddenly became the least important of their concerns.

Will the project ever be revived? Efforts have been made, but the prognosis is not good. Let's be thankful and celebrate what Tim gave us and mourn the loss of this passionate lover of mechanical history, rather than linger on what he couldn't complete through no fault of his own.

Bill well said. Those that paid the money up front did that to help Tim get the books published. I spoke with him several times and had many email exchanges with him. He was very dedicated to the project and wanted to collect and publish information not available anywhere else. He was successful with the first four books and would have been successful with the remaining book had he not passed away. There was no fraud of any kind involved with the project.

I was sorry to hear of Tim's death. No family should have to go through that.

Are there any plans to fulfill orders for the first four books?

I don't think Steve Colby was implying that Tim Burton was a fraud. Anyone who spoke with Tim knows he was a genuine and ethical person.

The family however has a stack of #5 books bought and paid for by those of us who prepaid - many years ago now - for all 7 books and the dvd,

The VERY LEAST they could do is to distribute those. The ethical thing, would be to have the remaining books printed as is and all debts/obligations fulfilled.

Tim's family has - directly or indirectly - profited from our payments for the book series and has an obligation - one they don't seem interested in fulfilling.

Too bad, I couldn't operate like that.

And since the family doesn't seem to have any interest, perhaps they wouldn't care if someone started providing copies to those who missed out on the first four volumes. My guess is they would suddenly spring into action.

Then suggest it to the family and see what happens.
the books could be hardcopy which is a lot of messing around, or down-loadable pdf's which don't involve much work
