the latest Redneck Roundup
Lots of fun in Belfast this weekend. The transition went pretty well. at last count we feel we had at least 65 attendees over the three days. Good weather and plenty of food. Dan Pate & Mike Yurko did breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, French toast and hash brown potatoes, and lunch was a huge selection of burgers, hot dogs and sausages. Jack Lawrence and crew cooked lasagna, spaghetti, corn on the cob, and extraordinary Philly cheese steaks for the suppers. Sue Yurko and Mike brought 22 dozen cookies and 12 batches of brownies. Bev and Don McLain brought a large cheese assortment and prepared rum cake and ice cream for deserts. Weather was warm, but dry and sunny. We worked on the new Bugatti Stelvio build, made door panels for the '23 RR boat tail speedster, fender repair on a '34 RR front fender. Mallory began her new project of a 650cc Yamaha Café racer. Demo's by Dan Pate on Pullmax dual flange edge shrinker and an adjustable bead former. Bill Trombley gave seminars on adhesive backed transfer patterns, using his Delrin dies on Kent Whites power hammer, and guided Jim for working on his CP450 air riveter machine. Patman gave a display of panel shaping with heating the perimeter of a panel and displayed his wheeling machine dexterity. Brett Whisenant and Mike Phillips helped Jim install my new Cass Nawrocki inspired 6 x 6 lower anvil on Peters wheeling machine. Mike Stinson gave a seminar on gas welding aluminum. I gave a display of the uses for wood in metal shaping tools and coach built car restorations. The tool exchange had 13 participants.
