Another grill. This time I used some 14 ga stainless that I had sheared 1/4" wide. Some work on the Marchant clone strercher and shrinker got a nice fit inside the opening. This was welded to the 28ga steel inner band I had previously made.
I sanded it to remove the shrinking Mark's and then polished it. Not finished but happy with the approach. Rather than the large grid stainless wire, I ordered some 1/5" square stainless woven cloth. It looks nice but I'm having to glue it in so no photo till tomorrow.

I dont know after looking at it in place. This might become prototype #3. I'm concerned the grill opening is too small and whatever I do for a grill obstructs it a bit. I may make the opening larger and start over....again.

Looks nice. My opinion would be way more work for you. I like the idea of moving the headlights further apart to open up the grill.

Kerry. You can extend the face with horizontal bars. They can be wide in the vertical view. The face will be more aggressive.
Or make a model from polystyrene or paper and try the shape. Maybe a computer design would speed up the journey. A wave-shaped bumper would be good. Good luck.

Grill
Maybe slots around grill similar to prewar Alfa/Ferrari 8c? I like the shape of your current grill, the slots would visually widen it.

I believe you should first finish the first iteration. Then you can iterate from there. I agree though that open up the grill may be nice. If you need further inspiration, in my humble opinion a look at the Peugeot 402 Darl'mat Pourtout Roadster may be worth a look. https://s31.wheelsage.org/format/pic...roadster_3.jpg

I spent the last week thinking and cleaning the main room of the shop...and thinking....and cleaning. I have actual concrete visible. Those of you who have been here can appreciate the magnitude of this task.
Today, I had to play with the car even though I'm not through cleaning. Shortly after I made the last post, Mark 'Superleggera' Savory sent me a suggestion with this photo. He suggested enlarging the grill vertically and adding a couple small lights below the first. If additional cooling is needed, he suggested small openings around the grill. He sent three photos, one with the tall grill and vents and new lights, One with the same grill and vents, and an original Again, here is where it was this morning. And this is what it looks like now. The new lights are just tape/ I definitely like it better. I have lights on order. It looks like I'll be working on grill prototype #5....
