Question Carrozzeria maglio or helve

Hello I was wondering if anyone had information on the italian carrozzeria machanical hammer or maglio I'm looking for info on the original manufacturer detailed photos of them thanks

Hi Frank
I have a photo of a Maglio some where if I can find it I will posted

Way back then I have seen those hammers been used in a body shop where I was working in Italy.

Yes Frank,...... that tool was used nearly every day (noisy thing!! )
As per the name of the manufacturer....I can not remember ( that was nearly 47 years ago)

I first saw one of these at Griswold's vintage resto shop in Berkeley, CA in 1980. One of his metal guys made it up but could not quite get the cam/eccentric to lift the beam enough to work well. I think he gave up on it. It seemed to me that the throat was deep, maybe 40inches?

Then later on I got Anderloni's book "Touring Carrozzeria" which has this image in it:

Leo Stradley in the Dakotas has two helves from Italy that were in the container of Eckolds he imported a few years back. He doesn't do the web but I'll try to remember to call him and ask him to take some photos and bring them to the route56wingnut event next month.
