New "Old" Guy
Hey folks,I'm going to be turning 60 this year and I have been making things for probably 50 of them! I have run my own metal fab company for over 30 yrs. My focus for most of that time has been restoring and reproducing historic architectural pieces. Almost all of my work is "Hands On", blacksmithing, metalshaping, metal spinning, lost wax casting, repousse', engraving, carving, etc, etc, etc. I love to disassemble something that was built 100yrs ago and decipher how the original artist / craftsman made every piece. When creating new ones I pride myself on using the same tools and techniques as they did.
My interest in this forum is to see how others solve similar challenges, learn some new things, and maybe some of the things I have learned can help others as well. |
