Default Hello from Norway

I just found this site and I have already spent hours reading.

Anyway, I am Paal, a 36 year old Graphic Designer who loves Hot Rods, but also other kinds of building and restoration. I am currently restoring an old house AND getting my Master's Degree in Architecture, so my Hot Rod project unfortunately needs to wait a couple of years...

For now I collect parts and do minor repairs to the dented and rusted out body of my 1936 model Hansa 1100 when there is time. I bought David Gardiner's DVD, which was excellent. I also plan to buy a TIG and a shrinker / stretcher soon, so some progress will be made!

Hello Paal. I remember your name. Welcome to Allmetalshaping. I am glad you like the DVD.

Welcome Paal,

We have several Viking members and in the metalshaping community there are quite a few in what they call "Northern Europe" a few weeks ago there was a Norway MetalMeet at Tonsberg, 100km south of Oslo.

It's documented on the MetalMeet.com site.

There is also going to be a Viking MetalMeet at Viborg Denmark in late June. Info about it is here:

Thanks, guys. Yes, I know about those meets, but it's hard to make time with all that's going on. But at least I ordered a TIG welder today! And I'll pick up a shrinker/stretcher in Atlanta in a few weeks when we're going to visit my sister-in-law.

That's the thing about Norway, it looks nice, but the weather is horrible and everything is at least twice as expensive as anywhere else!

Velkommen til Allmetalshaping Pål.

Where in Norway do you live?

And I see you are restoring your house. Are you on the Byggebolig.no forum? If not, check it out.

If you have some time, I'm about 4 hours from Atlanta and you're welcome to come visit.
