Default Ozi 206 dino

I am back with another project, a 206 dino.
I did a lot of poking around in the aircraft forum checking out the sheet work and processes, I bought an air frame book and did some reading.
I dont know if you are ever ready but I want to have a crack at this.

I want to try to have the car look correct from the outside but underneath it will be my own.

I know the site is metal shaping but I will put the chassis up as well.
I will try not to put to much mechanical up unless someone asks.

I was given drawings of an original so I am using that heavily for measurements ect.

The original was steel tube, sheeted in alloy.
I have always wanted to build an alloy tub, riveted and bonded.
Some of the design is on the run, adding panels for strength in loaded areas.

I made 3 members to fix suspension and an engine frame to.

This panel is attached to the rear frame and riveted to the side panels.
A center board and seat structure will also add to the frame fixture.
That I do tomorrow.

The mid inner panel are installed to give a double skin, I punched and swagged the panel.

The floor I wanted to add some stiffeners, I looked at swagging the floor panel but this became the safest and cleanest way to do it.

I had to make some tooling to get the low profile hat.
I punched and swagged and also put joggles in for water to escape as the car has no roof and it may get rained on.

These are solid riveted.

Side pontoon brackets I made a jig out of 5mm alloy.
I then use a trimmer to cut the panels out.

The 2 straight folds I do in the press brake, then place on a timber jig to fold over the radius.

The fuel tank lives in the pontoon in the large holes, its a tube.

I LOVE it and the rivets. Keep posting, I will be watching closely. What gauge and material are the panels? material and size of the rivets?
