Default 1st Post Test Photo

I'm a wannab hobby welder (hence the screen name). I'm an office guy for my real job, but the oxy-acetylene welding is a great stress reliever at the end of the day. I've been practicing O/A welding for about six months now. Currently, I'm refining my skills with 24 gauge banding material. Controlling the heat and speed are...fun on this thin metal. I am working on mild steel up to about 1/4 inch thickness but no thicker than that.

I'm interested in getting feedback on (the two photos) from you experts out there. These photos are banding material without using filler wire...except when I overheat the metal and blow thru. Then I use small strips of banding material as filler to close up the holes. Needless to say to my untrained hands, this is challenging.

Feel free to critique as you see fit. Thanks in advance.
