Heat a dime sized spot up to a red heat, it will expand and as create a little "mound". (It will generally follow the existing crown in the panel.) Quickly flatten the little mound between a hammer and dolly. Stop hammering after the first "tink" of hammer on dolly, the goal is to move the hot metal back into line with the rest of the panel, further hammering will stretch it and defeat the purpose. Repeat.

The hot metal is constrained as it expands by the cool metal around it, when you force it back into the same plane it has to occupy a smaller area and becomes slightly thicker. As it cools and shrinks it changes the shape of the panel. Simple. 😁
