Walter Eckold knew Antony Fokker personally during the 1920 and 30s as both had been involved in German warplane production during WWI. Fokker's company used Eckold products as they transitioned from wood to aluminum aircraft in the 1930s.
Although Fokker died before WWII, Eckold still knew Fokker engineers and went to them when he escaped from the Communists in East Germany hoping to secure financing for the production of his pre-war, and post-war tool designs. The Dutch agreed to become partners as they too were looking for products to sell. That is why there are many Fokker-Eckold tools out there now.
