I feel your pain Kerry. A couple years ago I burned my finger pretty bad when a big welding glob stuck to my ring. As I'm sure you know gold is a wonderful conductor of heat and it transferred all the heat to my finger. Now I'll take it off when I work but the silicone sounds like a better alternative.
