Smaller bowls = tighter bag and larger more flowing shapes = softer bag.

Hope this helps.

It does help, Jere. Experimenting with different fills is exactly what I am trying to do. My latest filling material is Black Diamond blasting media as it has negligible silica content. But how much to fill is always a question, so having a bag relatively full next to one less filled will be good for me. Cost of discarded leather couch is negligible, and using the bag construction method in Ed Barr's very good book Professional Sheet Metal Fabrication, I can make a bag fairly quickly. He uses Velcro closures, so it's easy to change the amount of fill, but if I have several bags with different fill I can feel results immediately.

Sounds like you have different "durometer" bags on purpose. I never thought of that.
