Fixing up this welded up crack in the other guard. The other side was fine but they are prone to cracking here, so will cut it out rather than just smooth this...

Just use 0.6 or 0.9 mig wire as your tig filler...

Just use 0.6 or 0.9 mig wire as your tig filler rod to fill them. Less heat needed to melt the rod.

If it is under cut from the welding, I prefer to come back and fill it with more weld rather than just push the thin spot up from the other side.

Amazing what some people think is a good repair. Not going to get any better with some of these network youtube TV type shows which show them doing it exactly the way this old repair was done!
