Wow - that is great. I actually bought some leather belting and latches and decided to make something that looks close. I have them finished other than the mounting plates. That helps a lot!

The obvious part is the leather belts with buckles. I assume there is an over-the-center toggle...

I ended up with some oil canning on the bottom...

I ended up with some oil canning on the bottom after i welded the filler "neck" on the side. I am going to flange the baffles to make it all more rigid. Thinking of drilling holes and plug welding...
