Shrinking with a hammer????

I understand Hammer on dolly Stretches metal and hammer off dolly MOVES the metal back to were it was in dent straightening but how would you SHRINK with a hammer????? THANKS

high spots

Anytime you weld (mig,tig,oxy) you are gonna get shrinkage.You should have hammer& dollied out this shrinkage at the HAZ area.

Beware!ospho or acid type products

Are not compatible with most epoxy primers.I said most.read the labels.I once osphoed a deck lid washed it off then used H.O.K.Epoxy primer and the primer peeled off in sheets!I epoxy right away now.

De -Chroming a hood question

I cut out a 20 ga.patch to go in the hole on the hood of my 56 ford victoria.This was an old custom trick back in the 50s.I formed the patch and it fit real nice,but I forgot it has a "peak" or body...

50% mix

of Phophoric acid and distilled water.My panel never rust but before priming you must remove the whitish coating as epoxy primer and this phospho mix dont play nice together.

It has a very low crown

front to back and top to bottom and it also has a wide flat moulding running front to back.Im thinkinking maybe its better to use lord Fusor panel adhesive where the bonding line would be hidden...

Did you hammer the patch over the bondo buck to get the shape or was there a wood hammerform? I would think the bondo would crack if you hammered on it. Sorry im new to this,Thanks. Mike
