Do you all use angle grinder with adjustable speed? I find that using 125mm wire wheel with full 11000 rpm is really scary, even if you have welding mask and thick gloves and shirt

I have this type adjustable file already, but sometimes you would like to have smaller curved file. Tried to heat and bend couple normal files, but they dont cut anymore from area they are heated....

Can you bend normal file yourself without heating or will it crack? If you bend it with heating it will lose its "hardness" ?
