I will add that once I got the hang of it, the rhythm and right speed for a given torch setting, it was pretty easy actually (in a comfortable position). Don't ask me to do vertical, or upside down....

mdf or plywood can be cut out with a cnc router. many hobbyists have them (including me) and that would be a lot cheaper than a water jet or laser. Accuracy is more than good enough for a buck.
