Try ebay, search for Sheldon lathes, always a bunch of literature on there. Also there is a Yahoo Group for Sheldon lathes. the moderator has a lot of Sheldon information.

Thanks for all the advice. Finally ended up turning the inside and outside on the lathe. Some work with sandpaper and scotchbrite and the customer is happy with the resulting part.

The filler neck is 54mm in diameter and .8mm thick. There are 2 of them as the tank is divided into main and reserve sections. They are riveted and soldered to the tank....
