EK panel van

7 Attachment(s)
I finally confronted the previously repaired quarter panel on Brians EK van
Attachment 38639

Attachment 38640
The quarter was rusty around the dogleg and unfortunately suffered from major dents
Attachment 38641
A paper pattern was used to transfer the panel shape

Attachment 38642
blocked out as taught by Peter T
Attachment 38643
MDF templates were used to gauge the profiles
Attachment 38644

Attachment 38645
Temporarily attached prior to wheeling. I probably should have put some shape in first but my helper wasn't available so I just went ahead anyway ( I stopped by to see the doctor working on the 36 fender/ guard he is currently working on and got inspired to have a go)
Cheers John

Hey John.
Looks good. So glad you have gone to the dark side.:D

PS. Isn't that the side we started on last year.

Thanks guys

Yes Johnny, this is the same side ( actually the same vehicle. well spotted !)
We messed around trying to sort out the dogleg but I had a look at the practice piece and figured I could do it as a complete panel ( looks sooo easy on the DVDs )

When are you next down this way ?:p
Cheers John

Sweet job there John. :)
That is one hell of a big panel to tackle on your own!

kiwi john 08-30-2016 07:41 AM

Now that you mention it Marcus, it is pretty big. Should be OK when Bri shows up to help on Saturday

Bri complained about my hourly rate so now I just work by the sq foot !

Might re-do his roof next...................probably doesn't need anything but won't hurt to do it anyway.

Will call you tomorrow Neil

Cheers John
