Martin's mash up

Hi everyone,

I hope add to thread with projects that keep my interest level high in metalshaping, currently restoring an MGB GT, but there are other things that interupt the build when need a break from it, so it's my mash up of the things I like to do.

I thought I'd start my project folder off with an E Type V12 wing/fender build in aluminium, it might lead onto a full bonnet build eventually, but for now this is it.

Are you going to gas weld or TIG weld the sections together? Looks a good exercise in shaping.

Hi Matt
Nice to meet you too mate, love your workshop, got all the right tools & amazed one person knows how to use them all:)
This panel is the result of travelling to Cornwall last year, to do the wheeling course at MPH Panels, I had a great time.

Thanks for the praise guys, not everything goes to plan, but I'm happy with end result

Geoff is such a matter of fact guy when I went James was away surfing so had a one to one all week, didn't get to work on the E Type nose as I'd taken a rear wing buck for the Cobra. Would recommend a trip to Liskeard to practice the wheel any day.

I've been busy again, this time a Jaguar XK120 rear wing/fender, this time I gas welded it.
The buck is a glassfibre panel, I also used the opportunity to make a wooden buck for the other sidel
I made it a bit more difficult for myself by making the side & top in 1 piece, the dreaded reverse.
TBH next time I'd made it in 2 pieces as it's easier & quicker
