Hi, just read through the thread on posting photos from an album and it has jogged my memory about post direct from your computer. Once having used the attachment route where are the photos stored on the host computer and are they related to the member.

Thanks

Sorry Tom, I just now noticed your question. Attachments are stored in an internal file within the vbulletin structure and are linked to the post to which they are attached. They can be attached to multiple posts by coping the location of the photo.

For instance, if I right click on the MSOTM photo above and then click on copy image, I can paste it in another thread and it shows up like this;

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...ictureid=17109

OR if I click on copy image location and then click on the yellow mountain icon in the edit or new post screen, I can copy the location in and it shows up like this:

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...ictureid=17109

Just different ways of referring to the same collections of ones and zeros stored on the host server...wherever that is.

Here's my try at it.

Phil, you missed the inserting of the attachment. Read the last few paragraphs of the original post and it explains how to click on the paperclip icon and then click on the attachment you want. This will allow the photos to show up without having to click on it.
