MG F magna radiator shell
Hi
I have been spending some time last summer in making a polyester copy as a buck for an MG brass radiator shell. I want to gain experience in working with brass and like the challenge . Finally started with making the paterns and first panels. Here some pictures! http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...psvpqbt53g.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...pswimokmwg.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...pse7rovmrd.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...psxtqwv59h.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...pszzukgs6d.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...psh2stspjv.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...pska8pq1bm.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...pszwatrjkx.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...psegjqfm5s.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/...psfk57p924.jpg Happy with it so far. I take it you are going to be making more than one of these?
Looks like a good way to make repeatable shells. Are you able to do some shaping on the buck as well for fine adjustments? |
Very nice !!:D

Hi Marcus
Well lets see what my end product will look like! If it's good enough wich offcourse is my goal I would like to make a few of them:) Thanks Peter:D Greeting Paul |
Looks very good.
Is the polyester buck solid polyester or formed over a wood/metal core? Approximately how much polyester did it require- the entire 20kg, more or less? |
Nice job on the buck, looking forward to seeing progress on this one.

Hi Cliffrod
The buck is solid polyester mixed with fiber as filler add. About how much I've used. Less then the 20 kg becouse of the fiber add. I estimate about 17 kg Gareth thank you! Paul |
Hi Shapers
Yesterday finally had some time left do make a little progress on my shell. Finished the second side and made a start on the bottom. Here some pictures.
