note the thinkness of filler I'm trying to workout what they did there as panel doesn't seem to be bashed in that much to justify the amount of fill

every door needs work 1/4v panels and even the roof has had the bondo treatment

Sometimes you know how she got her wrinkles and scars because she tells you. If she doesn't and it's not easy to figure out, it may be best to not know and just accept her as she is. This works well with cars, too....

Looks like it will be a nice car to do. How is the interior- ok for age or not? Seems like all the Mercedes of that vintage I have ever found needed even more expensive leather interior work than expensive hard parts.

kent I may well have been , or a prop for 20000 leagues under the sea

cliff the seats are mint, I'm thinking it had a retrim at some point but other parts of trim need work like door cards and some timber parts

its kind of funny in a way, but what learned bondo scultping in my early days does carry over somewhat in feeling shapes and contours. Should be a nice project.

it not some of your handy work Steve ? lol
I'm scratching my head trying to work out how the front goes as I expected to see headlight surround hammered down but its not obvious to me atm
it has a chrome surround that fits to the shape

Regards David

Should be a great project for your metal shaping skills for sure Dave and teach even more. ;)
I plan to make the next project a harder one just so I can keep learning. :)

well I have removed the driver side guard removed about 4 lts of filler ..
from large dent in center of panel , theres a welded patch on the brow that wasn't made to the right shape so was corrected with filler ..
the rust in the lower section the bashed in and filled over
looking forward to getting back into some metal shaping ..

Dave it was good to catch up with you at Peter's yesterday. I came across a 1958 220. Is that any good for a donor as only wanted $500 for it.
It is on https://www.facebook.com/groups/1652...target&fref=nf and search for Cheryl Fenton.
