Using air/pneumatic impact tools can save your arm and your time.
One of my long-time students, George Schroeder, http://www.schroederart.com/ asked me about up-grading his air motors to do 1/8in copper, a few years back. I suggested a 5/8in. bridge riveter and instead, he came home from a local garage sale with an old jack hammer and then he made up a good hammer die for it. Attachment 48509 Annealing .125" copper takes some heat. Attachment 48510 The buck has to be accurate Attachment 48511 The copper bowl for the Celtic fountain turned out nicely. Attachment 48512 5-sided, with radial hammer strikes around the rim, it is riveted and sealed and sits on a carved granite base. A really nice job! - done with a jack hammer. :):) |
That's beautiful. I love copper art. One day I'll have a bash at something copper, too! Thanks for sharing Kent 👍
