Woodturner - looking for a new challenge

Hi

I first started woodturning about 30 years ago.
Took a 20 hiatus and then got serious when I managed to build my own shop.

After 5 years of that, I'm looking to expand my horizons.
1 - to add a few more dimensions to my existing work
2 - to learn new skills

From various readings and YouTube videos, its clear that spinning technique is very different, hence intriguing.

And I'm pretty sure I can use my current lathe for spinning.

I know a tiny bit about spinning from when I collected antique silver....

You're off to a good start with your woodturning skills.

Once you get into anything with undercut you will need to make sectional mandrels.

Not sure about your machine. There can be very heavy loads in spinning - would be a shame to knack it!
